“But for you who fear My Name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in His wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.” Malachi 4:2 NLT
When Jesus, the Sun of Righteousness, arrived in this fallen world, He found brokenness and sickness everywhere He went– sickness of mind, sickness of body, sickness of spirit. Israel, the one land where the One True God was feared, was broken, and had been for centuries.
As Jesus went from place to place, in Galilee, in Samaria, in Judaea, on the other side of Lake Galilee and the Jordan river, He healed broken people, with His touch and with His words. He was thronged, morning to night, with the lame, the sick, the blind, the demon-possessed; and He healed them all. He healed even those who disregarded completely His demand for anonymity. He healed others at the expense of His own life; there were times He and His disciples had no chance even to grab a bite to eat, and His relatives even concluded once that He had lost His mind. He was not afraid to touch even the contagious lepers, so abundant was Life and Healing within Him. Jesus brought healing to everyone He touched.
