For thousands of years, the relationship between God and man had been broken; Adam’s sin had severed the perfect relationship between God and the man He had created in His own image. With sin in our lives and in our very nature, we could not approach a Holy and Sinless God.

In his second letter to the Corinthian church, Paul tells us that the coming of Christ has changed all of that. “For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And He gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors: God is making His appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, ‘Come back to God!'”  2 Corinthians 5:19,20 NLT.

God Himself came to earth in the Person of Jesus Christ. He paid the price for the sin of all mankind, so completely that God no longer counts our sins against us. At the foot of the cross of Christ, each man is given a clean start– the charge of “Guilty!” has been wiped out for every man.

God has sent out His servants to spread the good news, to let all men know that a relationship with God has been made possible again, and to plead with all “Come back to God!”  For the healing of every severed relationship must be accomplished by the participation of both parties. God has done the impossible on our behalf; He has removed every obstacle to our relationship with Himself. So now, the call has gone out to mankind to believe in Jesus Christ, and in simple faith to “Come back to God!”
