“He is our peace,” Paul had written in his letter to the church at Ephesus. Jesus Christ, on the cross, has made it possible for men to have peace with God, and, in that newfound peace with God, the barriers between Jews and Gentiles have been taken away, making possible peace between them as well.
“He brought this Good News of peace to you Gentiles who were far away from Him, and peace to the Jews who were near. Now all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit, because of what Christ has done for us.” Ephesians 2:17,18 NLT.
God’s plan of salvation, carried out by His Beloved Son on the Cross of Calvary, has opened up limitless possibilities for the lost children of men. Gentiles, who were far away from God, and Jews, who were near to God yet could never approach Him, have now received the Good News that peace with God has been achieved for us. We all, whatever our former stations, can come to God– even can now claim Him as our Father, through the work of the Holy Spirit, made possible by Jesus Christ.
We have been adopted into the family of God, given His own Family Spirit, the right and privilege to call Him “Daddy, My Father.” All of this and more has been brought about by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, bringing us peace with God, and peace with one another in His heavenly family.
